Peter Metzger

Managing Partner

Peter founded Metzger in 1991 after spending the previous 10 years at a large specialty construction firm as Executive Vice President.  During that time, Peter recognized an opportunity to provide an alternative solution to owners that would improve on certain aspects of the conventional construction delivery model.  His vision would allow finish products to be selected for the right reasons at the right price, in a progressive, collaborative and open book fashion – an owner first delivery approach was born.  Peter has thoughtfully grown the Metzger team by adding talented personnel with varied construction industry backgrounds.  The result has been a vast expansion in the ways in which we service our clients and their projects.

Peter comes from a long line of successful construction industry business owners and entrepreneurs, dating back to the 1890’s.  Peter’s business acumen and savvy have guided Metzger for over twenty-five years.  Peter graduated from Montana State University with a degree in Government and Pre-law.  

Jeff Sellers,

In February 2017 Jeff became a Partner at Metzger Jeff has managed over $1 billion of commercial construction projects over his seventeen year career.  Jeff’s completed projects include work at some of the premier properties across the country including TD Garden in Boston, MA and Met Life Stadium in East Rutherford.   Jeff specializes in the delivery of fast track projects from conception to completion in a range of industries including: hospitality, resort, gaming, retail, sports and food and beverage.

As the Vice President of Development and Construction of one of the world’s largest privately held hospitality companies, Jeff was responsible for all capital projects which included project estimation, due diligence for properties, environmental permitting requirements, selection and managing the overall project team.

Tom Metzger


Tom joined Metzger in 2012, and is responsible for operational oversight, and management of our multi-scope procurement and consulting work.  During his time at Metzger the company has expanded its core competencies into complementary scopes of work, and additional marketplaces.  In addition to managing a large sector of our project portfolio and operational initiatives, Tom provides significant contributions to business development initiatives and strategic planning.

Tom’s joining the business in 2012 was the catalyst behind our current growth plan and vision.  Tom received his Bachelor of Arts in Government, and Economics from St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY.

Peter Dechert


Peter joined Metzger in 2016.  As a partner, Peter is involved in all aspects of the business, including the day to day management of individual projects.  Peter has experience managing complex projects in the education, healthcare, hospitality, multi-family housing, student housing and corporate office markets.  His experience, leadership and ability to effectively communicate make him a natural fit to represent his clients throughout the duration of their projects.

Peter has over a decade of experience working for industry leading and award winning construction management firms in Western New York and the Midwest. Throughout his career he has been fortunate to have received tutelage and mentoring from some of the construction industries best and brightest leaders.  Peter received his Bachelor of Arts from Denison University in Granville, OH.  Peter currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Roycroft Campus Corporation. 

Jane Bartlett


Jane has a plethora of experience working for private companies across the country.  She began her career at Metzger in 2004.  Jane manages many of our most complex projects that require a high degree of product knowledge and sophisticated logistics.  Jane’s consistent delivery of quality results for our clients has resulted in a number of repeat client relationships spanning more than a decade.  Jane specializes in large hospitality, gaming and corporate projects.

Jane is essential to the continual development and improvement of Metzger’s internal processes and a driving force behind our organizational growth and effectiveness.  Jane graduated from Kansas State University, and has been a devoted volunteer in her community through the years serving on various boards.
